with the Amsterdam Staff Band is available NOW!
The Amsterdam Staff Band accompany Saira for seven tracks on this new solo album. "Collaborating with such a talented group of musicians was a joy" said Saira. Her smooth balanced saxophone playing accompanied by a brass band is perfectly blended.
World-renowned opera singer Brindley Sherratt sings a collection of songs inspired by his faith and in tribute to his parents, reflecting on his childhood singing in church choirs and with the Salvation Army. During Covid these songs helped Brin through this universally difficult time, works such as the spiritual Deep River, He Hideth my Soul and The Lamb.
Following the success of their first album, ‘Cross Flourishes’ the trombone sections of Black Dyke Band and the International Staff Band (ISB) are pleased to present this follow up album. Under expert leadership of guest conductor was Rob Wiffin, the trombones excelled from jazz to classical and all styles in between.
The 1997 National Brass Band Championships Gala concert was a unique and historic event. The most successful brass band in the world, the Black Dyke Band, and the celebrated premier Salvation Army Band, the International Staff Band, performed together at the Royal Albert Hall. That evening started a union between the trombones sections that has resulted in this album.
Singing in worship groups both The Salvation Army and with some amazing musicians at a local Baptist church in Lincoln, Helen has counted each opportunity of music making as a privilege and an honour. Through her singing, Helen has made some lasting friendships and she gives thanks to God for the gift of singing.
Water's edge is not only a highly accomplished musical recording it is a compelling testimony of Saira's own Christian experience.
